What does John do?
John is Head of Project Development for RMIT University. John is also Founder and Program Director of Vietnam Social Health Revolution (VSHR). The purpose of 'Vietnam Social Health Revolution' is to to keep developing capabilities by scale and sustainable value stream to support - resolve different health related concerns in Vietnamese community and finally move forward to build a Quality health service model for Vietnamese people. John also chairman of Vietnam's Amazing Student contest.
What is john’s academic background?
John achieved B.Sc in Computer Science and Engineering. Following to that John also took different skill developing programs in different American and Australian universities.
What is john’s expertise ?
John’s expertise is to work on a model/business / structure problem, figure out a solution and then lead/run series of projects to solve them. John’s secondary expertise is develop a technology solution to solve a particular problem in business/ mode/ structure.
Why did John found VSHR ?
Doing research and develop something is always John’s passion. So John always did research on technology and solution development. John has around 9 conference and journal publications on those fields.
Then John was happy but one thing kept john dissatisfied is - his research was all going for industry only, not for normal people. John wanted to help normal people on the society. So John started his research on 2012/2013 to understand the health sector concerns in Vietnam and moving forward by forming VSHR to help people. That’s why John formed VSHR , which is a social program made of - Trust, value and inspiration.
What is Vietnam's Amazing Student Contest?
In our last two years, I was doing research on Vietnamese young talent pool on a problem - "why it's hard for fresh graduate to get job?" So we were interviewing different levels of hiring managers around industries. On our research we found that Vietnamese fresh graduates or young professionals (less then 3 year experience) are struggling on the following key skills:
And this is one of the key matters, tempting hiring manager kind of reluctant or resistant to hire fresh graduate and young professionals. We want to solve this problem in sustainable manner, so we are opening this annual project development contests - Vietnam's Amazing Student , contest website - www.amazingstudent.org,
During the contest student teams will learn those three skills from the mentor we will provide and also develop a small social project which will bring positive impact to the community.
How long has John lived in Vietnam?
Around 6 years. John call himself a - Saigoneer or Saigonese.
What do John’s parents do?
John’s father is a doctor. He is working for USAID. John’s mother is a teacher. According to John, his mother is the best teacher, among all the teachers he met in his entire life.
Family background ?
John’s family is a very much medical family who are working all over the world. He has total around 16 doctors in his family. John brother is also striving for becoming a doctor/ medical professional as well.
John’s father working for USAID, and his uncle aunt working for National Health Services (NHS) United kingdom, His other uncle, aunt working for Canada Healthcare. Like, many of the family members are working and contributing for the world health sector development. That also inspired John to help people.
Do John’s parents support him to do VSHR?
John’s parents know all about VSHR, purpose of VSHR and they completely support him. They highly appreciate John developing VSHR. John's father is his mentor as well.
What is the goal of VSHR?
The goal of VSHR is to help Vietnamese people by solving their health related concerns, help the people who needs help. And contribute to develop a future healthier Vietnam for everyone.
